2. Our status

We are an insurance agent licensed under Section 34d (1) of the German Trade Regulation Act (Gewerbeordnung, GewO) and are entered as such in the register of insurance intermediaries (multi-company agent). We act for several insurance companies and arrange their insurance contracts; in doing so we act on behalf of these insurers – we do not act as an insurance broker. We will be glad to tell you the names of the insurers we act for on request, and in any case before a contract is concluded.

We offer you advice and document it; under Section 62 of the Insurance Contract Act (Versicherungsvertragsgesetz, VVG) you receive the record of advice in text form before the contract is concluded. You can waive advice and documentation only by means of a separate written declaration in which we expressly point out to you that a waiver may adversely affect any claims for damages against us (Section 61 (2) VVG).

3. Register of insurance intermediaries

  • Register number: D-DHEC-YRYEI-72
  • Register maintained by: German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Deutsche Industrie- und Handelskammer, DIHK), Breite Straße 29, 10178 Berlin, telephone 0180 600 585 0 (20 cents per call from the German landline network, at most 60 cents per call from mobile networks), www.vermittlerregister.info
  • Licensing and supervisory authority: Bremen Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Handelskammer Bremen – IHK für Bremen und Bremerhaven), Am Markt 13, 28195 Bremen

You can check our entry in the register with the DIHK by quoting our register number.

4. Shareholdings

HAHN GmbH & Co. KG does not hold, directly or indirectly, more than 10 per cent of the voting rights or capital of any insurance company. No insurance company and no parent company of an insurance company holds, directly or indirectly, more than 10 per cent of the voting rights or capital of HAHN GmbH & Co. KG.

5. Remuneration

For arranging insurance contracts we receive a commission (acquisition commission and ongoing servicing commission) from the insurer concerned. It is included in the insurance premium; you incur no additional costs as a result of our work. Where in individual cases we provide services for a separate fee (for example flotte365, bAV365 or arranging insurance on a fee basis), we expressly agree this with you in advance.

6. Complaints and dispute resolution bodies

For out-of-court dispute resolution you can contact the following bodies:

  • Insurance Ombudsman (Versicherungsombudsmann e. V.), Postfach 08 06 32, 10006 Berlin, telephone 0800 3696000, www.versicherungsombudsmann.de – for complaints in connection with insurance mediation and with contracts of indemnity, accident, life and legal expenses insurance
  • Ombudsman for Private Health and Long-term Care Insurance (Ombudsmann Private Kranken- und Pflegeversicherung), Postfach 06 02 22, 10052 Berlin, telephone 0800 2550444, www.pkv-ombudsmann.de – for private health and long-term care insurance

Please address complaints about us first to beschwerde@hahn.eu. This applies to anything to do with us: the insurance contracts we have arranged and their terms, our advice and service, the handling of a claim, our availability by telephone, the client portal or this website. You can also reach us by telephone on +49 421 16 820-0 (Mon–Fri, 8.30 am – 4.30 pm), quoting the keyword "Beschwerde" (complaint) – you will be put through to the management – by post to HAHN GmbH & Co. KG, keyword "Beschwerde", Hohenlohestraße 14, 28209 Bremen, or via the contact form on this website. It helps if you give your policy or claim number, the period concerned and a short description of what went wrong from your point of view – and what you would like as a solution.

You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt with the name of the person dealing with your complaint. We examine the matter – in the case of complaints about an insurer, together with that insurer – and reply to you; if the examination takes longer, we tell you why and when you can expect a reply. Complaints go to the management, and what we learn from them feeds into our processes. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can turn to the dispute resolution bodies named above free of charge; we take part in these procedures. The courts remain open to you in any case.

Complaints about us as an insurance agent can also be addressed to the Bremen Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Handelskammer Bremen – IHK für Bremen und Bremerhaven, address above); complaints about an insurance company are received by the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht, BaFin), Graurheindorfer Straße 108, 53117 Bonn.
