- Does it cost anything to report a claim or to ask first?
- No. The motor claims hotline 0800 42 46 000 is free of charge, and asking our office costs nothing – we will also tell you if reporting a claim is not worthwhile.
- Do I also have to report the claim to the insurer myself?
- No – for policies arranged through us, we report the claim to the insurer, check the cover, handle the correspondence, answer the insurer's queries together with you and follow the settlement through to payment. Time-critical claims are dealt with immediately; assessors, garages or tradespeople are appointed on the same day if necessary. You can see the progress in the client portal, and your dedicated contact remains your point of contact.
- Should I report the claim even if I do not yet have all the documents?
- Yes, report it as early as possible – the sooner we know, the more we can manage for you. To begin with, your policy number or vehicle registration number, the date and place and a brief description are enough; photos, invoices and receipts or the police reference number can follow later, for example via the client portal. Keep damaged items until the insurer releases them.
- Can I report a claim in the evening or at the weekend?
- Motor claims, yes: the hotline 0800 42 46 000 is available day and night, including weekends, and arranges recovery, a hire car and a repair garage directly. All other claims can be reported at any time in the client portal at login.hahn.eu or by email to info@hahn.eu, or by phone Mon–Fri, 8.30 am – 4.30 pm on +49 421 16 820-0. Until then: keep the damage to a minimum, photograph everything, and call the police in the event of burglary, theft or accidents involving injury.
